Google Docs vs. Google Drive - Google Drive is Google Docs re-branded, with Dropbox like functionality built in. Google Docs started out as an online platform to create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more. As the online storage industry grew, Google Docs began to include online storage features. Google Drive was born when they release a program to install on your computer that would sync various files to your Google Docs/Drive account (like Dropbox).

Two Main Functions - In summary, Google Drive has two main functions:

1. Online creation of documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more

2. Online backup of your files by installing the Google Drive program/app
