IMITATE A PROFESSIONAL

Learning Goal

- Students will be able to use a professional's photos for inspiration in their own work

- Students will understand the importance of copyright protection

- Students will be able to create photos that imitate a professional

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. As a photographer sometimes you need inspiration. One good source is other photographers that impact you. For example, I've always liked how Ansel Adams could capture amazing black and white photos (pictured on the left). Another photographer I like is Bryan Peterson.

In class we'll talk about how this can be a resource as you continue with this life long hobby. Also, we'll talk about some things to consider like copyright issues. We will look at an easy way to add the copyright symbol (©) using Pixlr.

I hope this project also shows you how photography can be a part time or full time career option.

The Challenge - Imitate a Professional Photographer

Complete the Imitate a Professional Photographer assignment using this rubric. We will look at some good examples from previous years (Penn & Masic). Don't use the photographers from the examples.

Don't present like a zombie. CHANGE TYPE OF PRESENTATION?? MAYBE SCREENCAST??
